Well…I have an ipod touch and want to buy a cover for it, but when i went to an online store it said there were two different kinds of ipod touches which i wasn’t aware of. So is there a difference in their appearances, for the way the cover would fit them?
Thanks for helping me.

The 2nd generation is “slimmer” than the 1st generation
i believe the newer one has speakers so it makes it wider and that would need a case that had holes on the side so music could come out and also the case would have to be bigger.
slimmer, volume buttons, speakers and nike+ipod.
New speakers, longer battery life, buttons on the sides,i-phone look and feel, faster programing and internet. cover fits both. but it might have holes in the side if you buy the one for the 2nd generation.
the first generation is bigger than the 2nd generation . the 2nd generation is thinner .
hope it helps xx
the second generation is slimmer and is alot harder to hack and jailbreak. the first generation is so easy to hack but i like it better (because it is easy to hack =D)
The back of the Second Generation iPod Touch is thinner and the price got reduced from the first generation’s price.
And by the way, since you mentioned the cover, the Apple Store should have covers for the second generation iPod Touch’s back style.
The difference is the design…. The newer one is slimmer.
So many things are different with the 2G iPod Touch:
1: It has a high quality speaker for “easy listening”.
2: A volume control on the side.
3: A longer battery life: 36 hours for music and 6 hours for video.
4: It is slimmer and feels better in your hand.
5: It comes with the 2.1 update (with the 1G you have to pay around $10)
6: You can buy new in-ear headphones for it(with a microphone and remote)
and 7: It has Nike+iPod.
Basically I highly recommend the 2g iPod Touch (I have both!)
Well… the most difference is probably the fact that the second generation ipod touch has a different version of the software pre-loaded on it when you buy it as where the first gen has the older version of the software on it.Secondly the 2nd gen is slightly thinner than the older one.
P.S. if you buy a 1st gen ipod touch now you may have to pay for a software update
i hope the information helped you.
